Our Vision

The purpose of the local chapter is to promote responsible motorcycling activities for Harley Owners Group® members by conducting chapter activities and encouraging participation in other H.O.G.® events.  Your membership gets you into “closed” members only rides and events.  (A closed event is one that is not open to the public, only open to local chapter members.)  It gives you the opportunity to volunteer your time in chapter events and most important it allows you to ride, have fun and meet other people in the area who have one of the same interests as yourself: Harley-Davidson® Motorcycles.

About Us

The Finger Lakes chapter was established in 2001 and we are sponsored by Finger Lakes Harley-Davidson.
Please check out our 2019 Events Calendar and the copy of the latest newsletter.  In the newsletter, you will find a list of our officers and their contact information.  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch with one of the officers.
Our chapter meetings are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, 10:00 am, at the Dealership.  In warmer weather, we will meet in the pavilion outside. In the summer months, weather permitting, we will usually go on a short ride after the meeting.

Check out our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/flnyhog
Here you will find information on upcoming events and pictures of past events.
The chapter also has a website.  The web address is:  http://www.flnyhog.org

I started riding in 2008 when the gas prices were hitting almost $5 a gallon. My first bike was a Suzuki 800. After a year of riding that bike, Donna and I decided that we needed something bigger. So we went to Ithaca H-D and bought a black cherry and pewter 2007 Ultra Classic. In 2010, Ithaca H-D had a pearl black 2008 UltraClassic with very few miles that I purchased. I still have that bike today with a lot of miles on it.

I started riding in 1971 on a Kawasaki 125 dual purpose bike. The following year, I moved up to a 650 Triumph Tiger street bike. I rode that for a couple years and then tried riding enduro events for a few years in the mid 70's.

Around 1981 I bought a Suzuki 550 street bike and rode that to Laconia in 1982 and North Carolina in 1983. I replace it with a 1983 Kawasaki 750 Ltd. That bike was ridden until 1992 when I sold it.

I took off 20 years from riding until I bought a 2004 Harley Road King in 2012. I joined HOG in October 2012.

I presently ride a 2018 Harley Road King.

I enjoy day trips that last 50 miles or 200 miles. I also enjoy long road trips that can last 3 days or 3 weeks.

I started riding around the age of 7 with my initial motorcycle being a 1974 Honda XL100. My rides were a 1982 Kawasaki KX125 and 1976 Honda SL350. I rode these motorcycle through high school. After graduation I took a break from riding mostly to mature before purchasing my first road bike in my 30's. I purchased 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 which I quickly outgrew and then purchased my first brand new motorcycle 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 in 2010. I quickly got the itch to own a Harley, so on Easter weekend 2015 I purchased my first. This motorcycle is my current ride a 2015 Ultra Classic named Envy

Activities

I’ve had my license since I was a senior in high school but lacked a bike until 12 years ago. My bike is a 2006 Street Glide with a trike conversion kit. I’ve always enjoyed riding. I learned on a 350 Honda and earned my license the summer after graduating from high school. There was about a 10 year lapse between it and the 450 Honda that I purchased while pregnant with my first born. What was I thinking--not! I couldn’t ride with her. Therefore I sold it and didn’t purchase another bike, a 1996 1200 Sportster, until my youngest was graduating from high school (12 years ago).A few years ago, I purchased what I currently ride. It took a little convincing to switch to a trike, but I am quite happy with the purchase--as a number of people I ride with! Most of my riding is to and from work.

I started riding in 1975; off road on a 1953 250cc Harley sprint.I have a 2010 Harley Ultra Limited, a 2015 Kawasaki Concours 14and a 2015 Kawasaki ZX-14 Anniversary Edition.I have been riding motorcycles since I turned 13. I really enjoy the freedom and relaxation of being in the open air and feeling totally unencumbered by a cage around you as in a car. Traveling to newplaces and seeing new sights and people have majorly added to theallure of biking. The brotherhood of bikers is such a wonderful feeling to experience and share with people who are so passionate for the same motorcycle lifestyle. One of the real benefits of being in such aninclusive group, is that we all share a common hobby and don’t focuson the differences between people. I hope to meet you on the road!

My current ride is a black 2014 1200T, “Lucy”. I started out riding dirt bikes as a teen and had my first road bike at 18. I rode on and off, but not consistently when raising my children. Now that I’m back at it, I ride every chance I get and am on mysecond Harley. Off road, I substitute teach, tutor, do house painting, interior design and make art. Also, I have 5 grandchildren that I love spending time with.
